Nepal's Legacy, Lived as Hospitality

Landing - The Dwarika's Collection

The essence of Nepal, crafted by generations

From the intricately carved courtyards of Kathmandu to the restorative hush of the Himalayan foothills, Dwarika’s Collection unfolds in two distinct journeys within Nepal. In the capital, The Dwarika’s is a living museum alive with the pulse of a city as ancient as it is ever-evolving.

In Dhulikhel, Dwarika’s Sanctuary opens onto the mountains — a haven for reflection, healing, and renewal. Together, they offer an invitation to discover Nepal through heritage, hospitality, and regeneration.

Who We Are

Our Story Begins With A Vow

In the 1950s, Dwarika Das Shrestha began rescuing hand-hewn frames and pillars from the streets of Kathmandu, believing that Newari heritage — and with it the spirit of Nepal — should be lived, not lost.

From that vow grew not only a philosophy of hospitality, but a family’s lifelong work. Three generations on, Dwarika’s vision has become Nepal’s most respected family-owned hotel collection, carrying forward a legacy of preservation, renewal, and care.

Dwarika’s Collection endures as both sanctuary and statement: where heritage is lived as hospitality, and every stay honours Nepal with intention — slowly, meaningfully, and always from the heart.

Our History

A Family Legacy, Carried Forward

Across three generations, the Shrestha family has carried forward the vision first sparked by Dwarika Das: not simply to preserve heritage, but
to let it breathe in daily life. Guided by three enduring pillars — restoration, preservation, and revival — Dwarika’s Collection has grown into a living ethos of Nepali hospitality.

Here, heritage is not preserved in isolation but lived across two destinations — in carved beams and city courtyards, in mountain stillness and Himalayan rituals. To stay with us is to become part of a story that continues to evolve — at once ancestral and alive.

Our cuisine begins not in the kitchen but in the fields, gathering the day's ingredients by hand.

From Nepali Soil to the Table

The kitchens at The Dwarika’s begin in the valleys surrounding Kathmandu, drawing from six farms where rice rises from the Terai, mustard greens thrive in winter fields, and herbs are gathered in the mid-hills. Each harvest arrives with its geography intact, shaping dishes that follow the rhythm of Nepali soil, carried whole into the heart of the city.
